Since 1917 Asamai Shuzo has been making sake in Asamai Hiragacho Akita, cultivating its own rice fields less than 5km from its brewery, and using only locally produced ingredients. They produce mainly sake under the name of Amanoto a name that not only national but also international becoming more and more famous every. Since 1992 Toji, Koichi Moriya is leading the team of sake brewers producing only 700 Koku each season(126 kilolitres).
