Okunomatsu Mame Taru Honjozo is on one hand a beautiful decorative sake barrel of 1.8 Ltr. On the other hand, it also contains tasty sake. Nowadays there are fewer and fewer breweries that still make a sake barrel and Okunomatsu only does this on request before the beginning of winter.
The sake in the nose has a some grain and dairy notes with lots of umami, fine acidity, subtly dry with also fine fruit on the pallet. This sake is best served with grilled and fried dishes.
This sake can be served cold, room temperature, or hot.
